Oops, should have been more clear about that.  The router is a 4-port ethernet
hub, it also serves as my gateway to the internet.
route add -net 192.168.1.0 dev eth0 give me:

siocaddrt: invalid argument

I tried it slightly different     route add -net 192.168.1.0 eth0:

sioacaddrt: invalid argument

I got no clue.  I didnt enter any info about IRQs, so what ever info is there, is
what RH auto-detected.

yup.  there are only 2 desktops on the LAN, occasionally 2 laptops.  The router
takes up 192.168.1.1, that leaves everything past 192.168.1.6 or so completely
free.

While Im bashing my head against the keyboard, do you know of many Linux users in
Kansai?
