tlug: IBM Thinkpad 390 sound issues

Howdy Folks,

I've got an IBM Thinkpad 390 that I installed RH 6.1, dual booting 98.
Sound seems to be a real problem, though, despite having found a couple
of sample configs. My lsmod file is shown below:

Module Size Used by
nfs 29656 1 (autoclean)
lockd 30984 0 (autoclean) [nfs]
sunrpc 52516 1 (autoclean) [nfs lockd]
serial_cs 3696 0 (unused)
xirc2ps_cs 11140 1
ds 5740 2 [serial_cs xirc2ps_cs]
i82365 22640 2
pcmcia_core 39912 0 [serial_cs xirc2ps_cs ds i82365]
nls_iso8859-1 2020 1 (autoclean)
nls_cp437 3548 1 (autoclean)
vfat 9180 1 (autoclean)
fat 30464 1 (autoclean) [vfat]
sound 57240 0
soundcore 2372 3 (autoclean) [sound]
soundlow 300 0 (autoclean) [sound]

BIOS settings have the IRQ = 5, with the DMA A= DMA 0 and DMA B= DMA 1
(dunno what this means--any pointers for sound information appreciated).
I've edited the pcmia/config.opts to protect IRQ 5, and used the config
off of the <http://larry.earthlight.co.nz/geek/thinkpad-390.html> page,
but still no luck.
