Making it public makes a lawsuit a real threat; I would expect that
funding for her research is likely to be sustained at a higher level
than otherwise, unless she's really *that* good (in which case she
might have more trouble getting a Nobel Prize than she should).

I think you'll also find that feminism and gay-ism has taken strong
root in many areas of academia.  The straight white males are
well-aware they're being watched....
