I didn't mean it was, but it is not obvious to me that there is a
consensus that exposing identities to Google is something we want to
do.  Sure, Brett was most explicit about that, but did say he could
live with it, but the same theme has come up in other posts.  Which
weren't so clear that they were willing to go with the flow.

Because the obscured addresses denote mailboxes that are actually
read, by people who, although smart enough to be gainfully employed
are also human enough to have dick-length anxiety or to think maybe
they really did win a lottery they didn't enter.

Please do not underestimate the skills of spammers and scammers.

I don't care, personally, I can take care of myself.  But I also don't
think it's a good idea to provide false security for those who can't
or won't take care of themselves.  With respect to humans, I believe
in education, not Darwinian selection.
