Since you asked ...

(1) At present rates of progress in machine image processing and OCR,
this will not last the decade out as a security measure, as an outer
limit.

(2) If there's no sufficiently near-term breakthrough in machine OCR,
just across the East China Sea there are ~1 billion biological OCRs,
willing to work at wages that make this financially feasible.  (That's
exactly how the first nationwide U.S. phonebook CDs were produced.)

It simply doesn't satisfy the needs of people worried about their
future employability.
