Quick and dirty method: Netscape Mail
(But...
I recommend you (eventually) learn fetchmail, qmail or sendmail, and
procmail,
(All 3 work together) and then the mail reader of your choice (like pine 
or mutt).  A much better, flexible, powerfull solution.

BTW, Does pine do pop & smtp?
