Hi, folks-- I'd like to replace the hard disk in my notebook computer (Toshiba Satellite Pro 420CDS). Nothing's wrong with the old one, but 776 Megs is getting to feel a little too cramped. Anyway, it appears my choices are I-O Data and Buffalo (can't get to Akihabara from here, so I'm limited to T-Zone, Yodobashi Camera, and the like). I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for against either brand, and if there are any pitfalls I should be aware of. Hmm, and one thing in particular: these disks claim to be made for Windows -- i.e., not for other OSes -- but of course they always say that. Assuming they're ordinary IDE disks, do I actually need to worry about that? Thanks for tips.
