well, I just checked ide-cd.c and sr_ioctl.c -- believe it or not, neither
the IDE nor the SCSI CDROM drivers support CDROM_DISC_STATUS or
CDROM_DRIVE_STATUS.  In fact, I can't find any linux CDROM drivers that
support those ioctls.  strange.
