tlug: compile gcc/g++ on SGI/O2

I want to install gcc/g++ on SGI/O2,
but failed when compiling.
I am using gcc-2.7.2.2 package. Is it
too old for
R5000? (I am not sure, may be my os
environment is not suitable. Who can
tell
me where can I download the new version
of gcc/g++?
