Ooo, er, that's me.

Of course it won't, because it's not a host; it's a mail alias. 

My mail actually ends up on a host called nexus.dgs.monash.edu.au. The
mail software sorts that out from the DNS, but AFAIK ping does a simple
gethostbyname(), which will fail.
