I mind me of the time I started HotJava.  Started at a nice reasonable 
8 MB.  After forty-five minutes, I killed it.  125MB of VM, I only had 
a few odd bytes left here and there unused---it was about to kill me.

Java's garbage collection philosophy is um, wasteful, I think.
