OK. Now see where your curses.h or ncurses.h are. Then enter that
location into the Makefile by hand.

With Slackware 3.4 you have

/usr/include/curses.h
/usr/include/bsd/curses.h
/usr/include/ncurses/curses.h

Something in your installation is terribly screwed....
