If you buy an AIWA, you have to recompile the kernel because the AIWA TA's
firmware PPP implementation is broken.  Not sure on the NECs.

well, you can *not* use a TA/DSU purchased outside of Japan on the
Japanese ISDN network.  or vice-versa.  Kind of sucks.

Threeweb has a nice flat-rate 64k ISDN for around 2000 yen/month or so.
I've been very happy with them since I signed up in January.

PSINet is also good.
