So I don't remember any flame regarding the matter on the maillist. But in my opinion somehow the statement is a little far from business letters. For instance the word translated to mean a complaint is a little strong for business communication. Anyway you claimed to get an overall consensus before the application, then somehow it went the other way around, some party anonymous in the statement . I interpreted this as "political". So I wonder in the "political" sense what you get for what you give up. But, mostly it is up to JLUG to respond and explain. If it is settled suddenly and the controversy goes away without explanation including "political" process while public is used in the process in a way of the open statement, it is too much Japanese. Gray solution. At least you have right for some explanation if you don't already know even if it is not for general audience. Also unless freedom of information is achieved, it is no point arguing the formality of public interest corporation. Even it is no different from private enterprise except tax exempt status.
