Netscape-on-Linux-glibc, maybe.  I don't think it has anything to do
with internationalization, except that that does look like HTTP-
encoded Japanese so it maybe only happens to people who read multibyte
languages.  My guess is that whatever they're using for Motif has a
fail-to-clear-buffer-before-(re)using bug.  Or maybe they're just
forgetting to write the '\0' at the end of the string.

It's very much present in 4.5b1, except that (English) searches
succeed.  What fails is writing filenames....  Abunai-ze!
