IBM mainframes do that, but they're designed from the ground up for things
like that.   How high is the overhead of achieving that on an Intel machine?
Currently, Linux apparently only uses one CPU at a time, with A being
locked out while B is doing something (although that is supposed to change).
By way of comparison, does NT handle that the same way, or is MS taking a
different approach?
