This is my netstat -rn:

[root@example.com /root]# netstat -rn
Kernel IP routing table
Destination     Gateway         Genmask         Flags   MSS Window  irtt

127.0.0.0       0.0.0.0         255.0.0.0       U      3584 0          0
lo

Is destination 127.0.0.0 okay?  If so, what could be causing the slowdown
on xemacs?

I really appreciate your help on this, I am learning a lot.
