Sorry to confuse you Scott. I meant a bash script that runs all of those in sequence checking for appropriate execusion (no errors) and then ppp-off to close the connection. For instance, in the script I am writing (nothing special) I cannot get it to wait until pppd is up before going on to sendmail; fetchmail; and ppp-off. I know that if I use ip-up it will automatically do that for me, but then I don't get to see the pretty debug information from sendmail and fetchmail as they execute because ip-up puts its stin/stout to /dev/null (YUCK!). Also, since fetchmail has such helpful exit codes, I was trying to check the codes and then rerun fetchmail if say it couldn't get to my pop mail server which happens far too often.
