I don't think exportfs is used by any modern version of Linux (I know it isn't in RH5). You need to: 1) RTFM ("man exports", "man mountd", "man nfsd" for starts) 2) Make sure that rpc.mountd and rpc.nfsd are running (you did install the nfs-server RPM didn't you?) 3) Send a SIGHUP to rpc.mountd and rpc.nfsd whenever you make a change to /exports (or mount your cd locally on the linux server).
