Wrong FAQ.

Try "http://www.dpo.uab.edu/~grapeape/wmfaq.html" (which is linked from
www.windowmaker.org).

It also looks like Jim Knoble is already building a RPM for 1.16.1.  See
"ftp://ftp.windowmaker.org/pub/beta/compiled/linux/rpms/".  Looking at
the spec file it looks like he'll have a glibc version out soon
(currently only see libc5).  It looks like his *source* SRPM is libc5
specific, which is surprising (probably something to do with
LibPropList).  Anyway, I'll wait rather than duplicate effort (always
happy to enjoy the fruits of someone else's labor).
