That would explain it, thanks. In the images directory for 5.1 Sparc that at looked at on several FTP sites, there was no boot.img file, just one for tftp install, which isn't what I was looking for. I hoped that meant I could use a 4.2 boot.img, so I made up a disk, but apparently that won't work. Do you know where I can get a boot.img for 5.1? All of the stuff involving RARP, etc., that you need to do for a tftp install is territory that I've never ventured into and which I sorta hope I can avoid venturing into when all I want is a nice, smooth install :-) Thanks, Jonathan Byrne Media and Content Section 3Web - Your Internet Solution! <URL:http://www.threeweb.ad.jp/index.en.html> -------------------------------------------------------------- Next Nomikai: 17 July, 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 Next Meeting: 8 August, Tokyo Station Yaesu central gate 12:30 featuring Linux on multiple platforms: i386, Sparc, PA-Risc, Amiga, SGI, Alpha, PalmPilot, ... -------------------------------------------------------------- Sponsor: PHT, makers of TurboLinux http://www.pht.co.jp
