Japan is not used to comparative ads. Before Pepsiman, Pepsi was
allowed to do comparative ads against Coke. But, it was not obviously
popular one. Though I don't think Pepsiman is popular. Anyway as a
Japanese I really do not want to see demonstrating in the middle of
night in Akihabara against Windows98. If the objective is to get the
media attention, you will get the media attention like the people who
suddenly occupy one of cars in Yamate line on Holloween night.
If you want to do the demonstration, How about renting tents and doing
Linux workshop in the middle of the street in Akihabara on the same
day like in Linux fair. Of course you have to do the press release to
get media attention because media go there in middle of night.

   Regards,
   Kei.

Kei, you make a good point that such an undertaking could backfire
if done without taste. I was thinking of more an "educational
event" where we let the public/media know that there is a viable
alternative OS.

I don't really want to be a loner in such an event, but if there is
enough interest by others, I would be interested in helping out.
