Maybe I should put a line in my .signature saying, "Working towards the
Irrelevance of Solaris/x86" :)

Just to throw some grist into the rumor mill, I offer the last
paragraph of the following article:

which says:

   Lastly, from a Furball fan on the Left Coast comes news that Sun
   plans to announce as early as this week that it will give away the
   source code for Solaris on Intel for free.  The move is an attempt
   to jump-start development for the OS, which is in danger of
   becoming irrelevant on the Intel platform.
