Karl-Max, Attached please find the three logs which I captured while connected to my server. I guess you were right, of course, because I seem to have a good connection. Maybe my problem is in the use of popclient. Is that the right program to use to retrieve mail from my pop3 account which is separate from my ISP account? Wow, I am on. Now how do I get smail (that is the mail handler of choice for the Debian install according to dselect) to send mail and retrieve new mail from my ISP? And, then of course the pop3 too...
