How about manually checking your mail server by telneting like this:

   $ telnet yha.att.ne.jp 110
   Trying 165.76.88.5...
   Connected to yha.att.ne.jp.
   Escape character is '^]'.
   +OK QPOP (version 2.2)/ATTJENS-POP-1.1E 12/3/1997 at yha.att.ne.jp starting.

You have to input at > lines accordingly because I can't tell 
you my password.

Is vucqpqlj your username at mb.infoweb.or.jp? I don't see no
point hiding something other than password unless of course
you are borrowing someone else's account.
