Hi all, I have got to make this announced clearly. As some people already know I've obtained a HP PostScript Printer LaserJet4000N. I came across a pathetic touble while printing. The problem under win95 is,(perhaps under NT as well), 1) As soon as you want to print out something from Netscape related apps. such as Communicator, mailer, or Compser, the whole system freezed in terms of printing. No application can print anything. 2) There have been some advises that IE and Netscape are not good friends so I got rid of IE completely caz I hate this funny interface. 3) Printing went all right. Or seemed to be Okay. 4) After rebooting, no way. Again the system freezes. 5) Erros are usually at modules; gdi.exe kln386.exe(only on an old machines). I checked every single manual, aksed people, sent emails, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut no one actually could answer me. Some pals recommended me to change the printer. Or just throw the printer out the window and make a mess of the sidewalk. hahhaa ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The final solution. I visited last night with HP headquarter at California and talked to a printer support tech over the phone for over ten minutes. Hahahaha expensive way to crack it!!! Anyway, solution is as follows. 1) edit win.ini add c:\windows\system\win87em.exe 2) shutdown the system and reboot but only to dos prompt. 3) cd c:\windows\system ren win87em.dll win87em.exe 4) reboot the system again. That is it folks. so simple. buuuuuuuuuuuut this was the final way to cope with the problem. The support tech himself tried a few things. and finally came to this. hahahahhaha He said 'Sir, this is Microsoft. They want to kill Netscape. wahahahhahahaha Yours.
