There are a couple of shops in Akihabara, where you can get very good
prices for notebooks. Some even have webpages (like
http://www.ottonet.co.jp/). Although, you and your browser should be
able to read a little japanese to understand them. The big stores like
Laox and T-Zone are usually more expensive, but you can look at the
merchandise before you buy, in contrast to the cheaper shops, where
you can just see the boxes. That`s probably what makes the difference
in price. If you haven`t been to Akihabara before it is probably
pretty hard to find the really cheap shops. You should get someone to
go with you and show you around.
There is a website with a map (http://www.akiba.or.jp/map/index.html).
If you look at it, there are some good shops along the street between
15 and 16.

Hope that helps

Marcus
