Do you ? I could tell you endless stories about that. Years ago
the Bavarian regional government wanted to cover all Bavaria
with something like that, called "Buergernetze" (citizen's
networks). They later on spoofed it by incompetence. I have been
in that right from the beginning and helped set up installations
in four locations ( setting up servers, teaching local admins
etc.... ). The crew of one of them eventually went commercial
and is now OberlandNet.

Well, I better stop here or I write a book. If you have
questions about that just ask them.
