"Quite a bit" might be a bit of a stretch.  "Published an article" would
be even more of a stretch.  :-)  "Rex posted a message pointing people
to the MagicPoint URL, which generated a few replies" would be how I'd
put it.

Responses were mostly pretty silly ("Can it read powerpoint files?",
"What a lame web page.", "What's this garbage on my screen", etc.).

Kind of disappointing, really, that people couldn't follow a single link
to download the software and untar it.  And the web page is in english
-- you have to explicitly follow the link to the mailing list archives
to see any Japanese.  At least one guy had something nice to say though:
"very neat stuff" or somesuch.

Err ...  Who is Kakugawa-san?  I thought the author of mgp was Yoshifumi
Nishida <nishida@example.com>.  (Though I haven't contacted the
latter yet, either).
