I have spent part of the day trying to create a module for the kernel. The message I am picking up is: /lib/modules/2.0.30/misc/yellowfin.o: kernel-module version mismatch /lib/modules/2.0.30/misc/yellowfin.o was compiled for kernel version 2.0.29 while this kernel is version 2.0.30. I had the sources of 2.029 and 2.0.30 of the kernel, but uninstalled the first one and started the compilation process from scratch. The steps I have followed to compile yellowfin.o are the ones indicated by Donald Becker: cd /usr/src/linux ; make include/linux/version.h and then gcc -DMODVERSIONS =DMODULE -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux/net/inet -O6 -c driver.c install -m 644 yellowfin.o /lib/modules/2.0.30/net Thanks in advance for any advice, dm -------------------------------------------------------------- Next TLUG Meeting: 13 June Sat, Tokyo Station Yaesu gate 12:30 Featuring Stone and Turnbull on .rpm and .deb packages Next Nomikai: (?)
