That's what I've experienced.  I guess the only workaround
for using Jpine and not having to hassle with this is to
make my local userid the same as my Geocities ID.  I hate
that, but may have no choice.

There must be about a million mail readers out there, and I
may have to look at them one by one.  Before I finish that,
I might know enough about programming to just hack one to do
what I want :-)  And of course, I might be willing to change
my last name to "Gates" if Microsoft would just release a
Japanese input capable version of Outlook Express for Linux
;-)

For that matter, if Netscape mail, with all its
shortcomings, took Japanese input, I wouldn't have this
problem either.  I hope they release the source for that
soon, Japanese input can be hacked into it.  Or better
still, just do it right there at Netscape :-)
