> Karl-Max, do _you_ support Hebrew? If so, would you be willing to No. I just know one word of it: Shalom. I know they use kind of an alphabet. Then my knowledge stops. Sorry. The only languages I am in command of are German ( of course... ), English, French and Japanese...... > answer questions about how you like to see and enter mixed l2r/r2l > text (eg, wrap strategies)? I have to admit that this kind of thing is pretty much overt my head.....however, after what I have learned in this list I wonder whether it wouldn't be a good idea to agree on four byte character spaces at least in the free software world - this would leave enough headroom for all the character sets around. Also, the approach Niibe-san envisages makes a lot of sense to me. However, I am not much of an expert in internationalization - I came into computing from the hardware side ( I started out as a radio communications expert and this explains why I have a strong inclination towards digital signal processing ). A personal note aside: I do not even know to much extent I am a descendant of Jewish ancestors because many of the documents containing our ancestry have been destroyed in 1933 by a family member in order to protect the family from Nazi access. But this is pretty much off - topic, I guess.
