Re: tlug: Net Day

As long as we've started politics....

Now soliciting opinions, facts, flames, whatever on how the Internet
is/will affect(ing) (a) Japanese politics and (b) the Japanese
economy. (I have a professional interest in the latter.)

Please reply directly to me; unfortunately TLUG's majordomo doesn't
seem to respect the "Reply-To" header, although just for the fun of it
I've set it.

If you want to say something "not for attribution" (no name attached)
or "on background" (please don't publish at all), please mark it
clearly. I will also be looking through back issues of TLUG---I will
check with authors first, mailing lists are only semi-public---but it
you don't remember what you wrote (or remember all too clearly ;-) and
want set a global policy, just drop me a line. I _will_ summarize to
a Web page:

	      http://turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp/IJPE.html
"The Internet and the Japanese Political Economy"

And how did this get started....

Amen, Brother Kei!.

"The adage that a people gets the government it deserves has always
seemed cruel to me, and nowhere more so than in the case of the
Japanese."

You are excused for a bit of hyperbole, Brother Karel. Two points for
getting the ObRef.

Of course, to some people the fact that government exists at all seems
a poor practical joke, eh, Brother Scott?

"That's a decision that can only be made between you & SY SPERLING!!"

Thank you for your contribution, Brother Zippy. We now return you to
your regularly scheduled mailing list.
