THe OPL-3 (and variants) is _not_ an audio device (/dev/audio and /dev/dsp) per se -- it's a synthesizer (/dev/music). You can play MIDI files through it, but not .au or .wav. Support is enabled in OSS by turning on the OPL-3 (and generic synth support) in the sound portion of the kernel config. It's not PnP ... the OPL-3 _always_ sits at (doing this from memory) 0x388. -- Chris (wileyc@example.com) --------------------------------------------------------------- Next TLUG Nomikai: 11 March Wed 1998 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 19:30 Chuo-ku, Kyobashi 1-1-6, EchiZenYa Bld.
