something interesting - the server now has started saying 'kfree of
non-kmalloced memory' with some arguments after it.. logging to the
console.  I wonder if it's related?

I heard there were some problems with the early K6s... although my dev
machine on my desk here was purchased at the same time as the problem
machine, and it also has a K6, and it doesn't have the problem.  Very odd.
