Sorry I didn't jump back into this thread sooner - I was in a little town called Fukuyama (population 180,000) all day. Yes, /usr/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc IS being used on _my_ system. I changed the fvwm to fvwm2 and it did go back to reading ~HOME/.fvwm2rc95 After I have a chance to unwind (aka drink a couple of beers) I'll try the .xsession file to see what happens. One strange thing, though. I had to call the window manager via the full path name - probably an indication that this wasn't originally intended to be the *right* way;-) ie: /usr/local/bin/fvwm95-2 Cheers, Jim S. ---------------------------------- Jim Schweizer <schweiz@example.com> Take my word for it, the silliest woman can manage a clever man, but it needs a very clever woman to manage a fool. -- Kipling http://www1.harenet.or.jp/~schweiz/ ---------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------- Next TLUG Nomikai: 14 January 1998 19:15 Tokyo station Yaesu Chuo ticket gate.
