Folks, Here are the pinouts for the serial ports on the IPC. Note that *synchronous* comms will only work on port A, but A & B are both fully functional in asynchronous mode. o o o 8 7 6 1 - DTR 2 - CTS 3 - TD o o o 4 - GND 5 4 3 5 - RD 6 - RTS 7 - DCD 8 - RC o o 2 1 Note that if there is no keyboard plugged in, the system will automatically use port-A as the console device, with power-on selftest messages being re-directed there even before the OS comes up. It defaults to 9600, no-parity, 8-bits, 1-stop. -John- --------------------------------------------------------------- TLUG Meeting Dec. 13, 12:30 at Tokyo station Yaesu Chuo ticket gate 13:30 Starbuck's coffee. 13:45 HSBC | info: joem@example.com At least 3 functional Sparc IPC machines will be raffled out --------------------------------------------------------------- a word from the sponsor: TWICS - Japan's First Public-Access Internet System www.twics.com info@example.com Tel:03-3351-5977 Fax:03-3353-6096
