Actually, as it turns out there is a problem with the 
sunsite.sut.ac.jp:/pub/archives/linux/distributions/redhat/mustang
tree.  It actually has mirrored the older 'tbird' (4.8) beta rather than
mustang.

I did another FTP install today, this time from ftp.redhat.com, and got the
correct sportscar release.
