Get Cthugha.  Put Eric Johnson, the RC Succession, Vivaldi or a Bach
tocatta on the CD.  Wagner is not recommended.

GIMP still won't compile, but watching Cthugha will make your brain
fry and you won't care anymore.

Highly recommended, especially if you have an extra screen available
and can do your work and only occasionally look at Cthugha.  Couldn't
find XCthugha; that would solve the extra screen problem :-)

The best part is that unlike acid, Cthugha doesn't cause genetic
damage.  Except to your parents.
