Re: tlug: Fortran Compiler + Not coming 6/14

tlug note from "Stephen J. Turnbull" <turnbull@example.com>
--------------------------------------------------------
I thought G77 was a native Fortran compiler?

I guess the technology probably involves RTL as an intermediate
language which would mean you'd have to install most of GCC, but as
far as I know you don't have to use C itself, even implicitly (as is
the case for p2c, f2c, and gnat (no `s'), all of which have front ends
to make the use of C transparent in normal circumstances.

I realy don't think that installing GCC in order to use G77 is all
that big of a cost if you want an industrial strength FORTRAN
compiler with high-quality optimization and debugging tools.

By the way, June 14th is definitely out for me. yoku asonde kudasai.
