Interesting, I did a ldd on my sendfax, which I compiled from the
source, and I get:

 ldd `which sendfax`
        libfaxutil.so => /usr/local/lib/fax/libfaxutil.so
        libz.so => /usr/local/lib/libz.so
        libm.so.5 => /lib/libm.so.5.0.5
        libc.so.5 => /lib/libc.so.5.2.18

Notice that lack of libg++.so. I guest that I must have libg++
linked against the static lib, ie libg++.a, though I do have:
/usr/lib/libg++.so.27.1.0

When you did the symbolic link, did you run ldconfig -v to see what
libraries it picks up?

I used gcc 2.7.2. I did have some headaches getting it to compile, but
that is becaues I want to link against its own shared libraries, ie
/usr/local/lib/fax/libfaxutil.so, to cut down on disk an memory
usage. This is not required.

Hope this helps,
