I'm not sure, but I think it should be "gcc -m sun4". 

BTW, more info on cross-compiling Linux for a Sparc target can be found at
	http://www.geog.ubc.ca/sparclinux.html

It seems they have been doing great progress with Sparclinux. The latest
reports say that v2.0 is stable, with X-Windows and support for original
Sparc binaries. Sometime I intend to try it in an old ELC we have abandoned
in a corner at the lab.
