Do you have something else at those addresses that is being mistaken for the card, causing the driver to misread what it thinks is configuration info? If so, you might try giving the driver the address of your card explicitly, rather than have it probe around. Adding something like AHA1542=0x130 to your LILO boot command line (adjusted for the base address of your card, of course :-). The driver supports DMA channels 5, 6, 7. Is your card configured to use one of those? You might also want to try a more recent kernel.
