I think xv works something like xv -root -quit Graphical_Picture The best that I`ve seen so far is xearth It puts the map on the of the World on the Root Window and changes every so often to show where Daylight is and also displays default cities name (Have to get Dublin on that map :-> ) leo glynn@example.com
