Craig,
I can't understand Ether 10/PCI mentality. I've always been able to
attain line speed of ATM 10 on ISA bus fine. I'd highly recommend you do a
per port comparison and scalability review of ATM 25 before you jump out and
get Ether 100 nics and hubs.

This brings up an interesting point. When I installed the PCI
3C59x 3Com ethernet card (vortex), I noticed that there were Linux
drivers for 100BaseT. The vortex cards are only about USD150 in the
states. I noticed that there were in Akihabara for 18,200 yen.
100BASE-T/10BASE-T with auto switching 3Com3C595-TX PCI at Plathome.
ACCTON FastEtherHub-8S 100BASE-TX 8port is 98,000 yen.

Intel EtherExpressPro/100 PCI is only 13,800.

The era of 100 Mbps ethernet for Linux is at hand.

I'm still moving slowly at 10mbps, but will try and upgrade soon.

Craig
