Earlier today, a friend here in the UK just said that a job offer that
was promised was suddenly taken away.  This is the second time I've
heard something like this happen here.  Of course, an offer is further
along than the interview process...

As for the interview process, I have never heard of a complaint
against an employer asking for feedback.  You submit an application
and hope it gets looked at.  There are just too many applicants.

The nice ones do give you a standard letter that says there was a
better candidate.

But personalised feedback?  I have never heard of that.  Maybe for a
position that is far higher than what I've ever aimed for.  :-(  I can
imagine if I was applying for CEO and I get turned down, I would
demand an explanation why.  :-)  [Maybe I should apply for a CEO
position just to see if they reply to me.  I think it at least
warrants a video of them burning my CV...]
