They'd spend 15 minutes of each lab period just booting the computers and getting everybody on the same page. Not sure if that could really be streamlined by having everyone have their own environment to CD into, especially nowadays when students are used to the "document == application" model that works pretty well on phones, but which even Macs don't implement that well. But it's worth a try!
