It's been a couple decades since I last ran any RHEL in a desktop setting with a window manager so I can't help with packages or repos, but I always like to plug Enlightment (https://www.enlightenment.org/) as impressively fully featured for its resource consumption. There are a bunch of cool apps for it, too. They have long periods of inactivity, but surprised me with a release in 2021. There's also a nice fork from Bodhi Linux going by the name of Moksha (https://www.bodhilinux.com/moksha-desktop/).And if there are any more hardcore coders reading this, I really like the concept of Arcan (https://github.com/letoram/arcan) for Iron-Man-style distributed applications (`ctrl-f`ing "demo" on the homepage might give a better feel for it -- https://arcan-fe.com/ but it's not really ready for mainstream users). A slightly easier start for it might be Void (https://voidlinux.org/) with Durden (https://github.com/letoram/durden).
