The way it seemed -- it was occurring during thfie Windows 11 install but I don't know vendor/microsoft relationship.  But I don't understand how it would benefit Lenovo directly to restrict it's user base.  

As I understand it, many of the early Linux developers were IBM Thinkpad users and back in the day (🙂) installs on the Thinkpad just worked.
