What flavor of Linux? Did you try with fcitx (or fcitx5) or just with ibus?Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS. And I've been using ibus/Mozc/Ubuntu for several years. I always go through this but this is the first time I actually keyed on what I needed to get the IME up and running.
Mostly I'm develop Android apps these days but I've been a Unix user since the 70's/80's and using Linux since early RedHat.
I just want a good solid desktop development environment with good command line tools.
And the stuff I've been writing is Japanese oriented mostly. I just let my google-play account lapse 'cause it's too much work to meet their requirements for the number of people who were using my free stuff. Besides, I'd have to support my apps if I had users and these days I write code for fun. Sick, huh :)
I just happen to hate Microsoft because of some of the underhanded stuff they did back in the early DOS days.
